Miss Kim is delighted to be part of the Cotati Rohnert Park Cooperative Nursery School community! She is passionate about working with children and their families in community-based education. Kim’s professional career in the ECE field started in early 2001. While working as a counselor for homeless teens, Kim sought out a second career and began substituting as a preschool teacher for Marin Head Start in her free time. Quickly realizing her career direction, Kim was hired on as a Head Teacher within 2 months. Kim’s strengths included team building, curriculum development and parent involvement. This led to the creation of a new role, combining Head Teacher and Family Advocate. After starting a family, Kim moved back to Sonoma County where she started as a Site Supervisor for NBCC, an infant to school age program in Marin and Sonoma County. In 2015 after earning her Program Director Permit, Kim took on the role of Program Director for NBCC, managing 13 sites. Her deeply rooted experience in early education and strengths in program enhancement and mentorship provide a commitment and intention to support the whole child through project and play-based curriculum. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and recently earning her MBA, Kim considers herself a life-long learner and continues to immerse herself in early education training opportunities. Kim embraces every teachable moment. She believes each position throughout her career has been filled with its own treasures and a new-found appreciation and love for early education.
